Philips has recently released two internet / DECT phones which can be used as both normal cordless landline phones and as internet phones for either Spype or Windows Live Messenger calls. Both of them equip a screen for navigating your Skype or Messenger contact list without going back to your PC. The Messenger model has a colour screen which is helpful. Both Skype-to-Skype and Messenger-to-Messenger calls are free, no matter where you are on the planet. You do need to pay for internet to landline or mobile calls though, but it’s still much cheaper than normal phone calls. BTW, both models have the twin phone pack available. By using two headsets, you can make internet and landline calls simultaneously.Unfortunately however, they are not interchangeable. The Spype model only supports Skype-to-Skype internet calls, SkypeOut calls to normal phones or for use as a normal landline phone. The Windows Live Messenger model can only be used for Messenger-to-Messenger calls, Messenger to phone calls, or for use as a normal landline phone. You have to choose one of them for the program you use most - or you could buy both of them :-)
