According to Net Applications' research, Windows Vista's market share was 9.19% in November, up from 7.94% in October. In contrast, Windows XP fell by about 1% to 78.37% last month. That's according to Net Applications method of getting data. According to popular, non-computer-related blogs with sitemeter, Mac is actually around 10 or 11 percent, with Vista around 4 percent, and Linux around 3 percent.
Yes, you're right. Some researches said Mac has much higher market share than 5%. Just for interest, I have also looked into my firsthand date of November 07 which covered a few sites across a few countries with nearly 1 million unique visits. The result was XP for 77%, Vista for 10%, Mac for 5% and Lunux for 1%.
